Hms scarab

This is a model of a river gunboat used by the Royal Navy .The Scarab was made during the First World War and served until the end of the Second World War.
The model is scratch built with no commercial parts other than the propellers, still can't make those but all the other parts were made by me. The hull is wood covered in fibreglass the deck is made of individual wooden planks cut by me. The caulking, black lines between the planks,  was cut from black cardboard.
The superstructure and parts are mostly made of plastic sheet and brass. One of my favourite models she sailed so well and looked very serene on sunny day and calm water.
